Lo studente potrà acquisire conoscenze avanzate rispetto all'arte e all'archeologia dell'Egitto antico, con particolare riferimento alle linee essenziali di sviluppo dell'architettura funeraria e templare dal periodo protodinastico (c.3000 a.C) fino alla conquista di Alessandro Magno nel 332 a.C.
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the art and archaeology of pharaonic Egypt.
La verifica delle conoscenze sarà oggetto di valutazioni periodiche durante le lezioni.
During the oral exam the student will be assessed on his/her ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.
Lo studente sarà in grado di comprendere e analizzare in modo autonomo problemi relativi all'arte e all'archeologia dell'Egitto antico.
At the end of the course the student will be able to look critically at the archaeological sources and will demonstrate the ability to define archaeological problems, develop an independent research and present its results in a structured way.

At the end of the course the student will gain the ability to correctly read the remains of the pharaonic world.
L'acquisizione da parte dello studente degli obiettivi stabiliti verrà verificata in modo specifico durante le lezioni.
The students are invited by the lecturer to take an active part in the course with questions and observations. An active partecipation to the course is considered very important for the evaluation of the student.

Introduction to the archaeology of ancient Egypt. This course is an introductory survey of archaeology, art and architecture of ancient Egypt, ranging in time from the Early Dynastic Period (c. 3000 BC) until Alexander the Great's conquest (332 BC).

Coloro che non possono frequentare dovranno concordare il programma con la docente.
Students are encouraged to attend all classes: the exam includes topics that are not dealt with in the bibliography. Those students who cannot attend should contact the instructor to define an alternative program.
