Far acquisire agli studenti conoscenze di base sui diversi contesti museali nelle loro principali componenti costitutive: sede, raccolta, ordinamento, allestimento, gestione, comunicazione, caratteristiche istituzionali, ecc.
Al termine del corso, gli studenti avranno acquisito conoscenze di base in merito a:
- le diverse tipologie di raccolte;
- le principali tipologie di ordinamento e le componenti dell'allestimento;
- le fondamentali missioni del museo e le diverse attività svolte per raggiungere gli obiettivi istituzionali;
- le diverse configurazioni istituzionali e le forme di gestione.
To enable students to acquire basic knowledge of the different museum contexts in their main constituent components: headquarters, collection, organization, layout, management, communication, institutional characteristics, etc.
At the end of the course, students will have acquired basic knowledge about:
- the different types of collections;
- the main types of sorting and the components of the set-up;
- the fundamental missions of the museum and the various activities carried out to achieve the institutional objectives;
- the different institutional configurations and forms of management.

Al termine del corso, gli studenti avranno sviluppato le seguenti capacità per una prima lettura del museo, in particolare:
- capacità autonoma di visita, osservazione e analisi di un museo nelle sue diverse componenti;
- capacità di interrogarsi sulle ragioni storiche di natura e consistenza delle raccolte, sedi, ordinamenti, allestimenti, assetti istituzionali;
- saper individuare tipologie, consistenze e opere principali della raccolta;
- saper "dedurre" e riconoscere i criteri di ordinamento;
- saper riconoscere e analizzare le principali caratteristiche dell’allestimento; (luci, soluzioni espositive, apparati informativi, ecc);
- saper individuare e analizzare prodotti e attività di mediazione.
Avranno inoltre maturato capacità di
- saper partecipare a discussioni;
- saper esporre in modo ordinato, efficace e sintetico il museo analizzato autonomamente;
- saper rispondere in maniera coerente a domande e osservazioni dei colleghi.
At the end of the course, students will have acquired the following basic skills:
- know how to analyze the nature of the museum and put it in relation to the peculiarities of the set-up;
- know how to identify the types and textures that make up the collection of a museum;
- knowing how to recognize and critically analyze the choices relating to the sorting of collections;
- knowing how to recognize and critically analyze the choices and the main features of the exhibition; (lights, display solutions, information systems, etc.);
- know how to analyze communication and promotion choices and products and the activities carried out by the museum;
- know how to participate in brainstorming and discussions;
- know how to present a museum critically analyzed independently in all its components and submit it for discussion in the classroom:
- know how to expose the contents of the seminar rigorously, effectively and concisely.

Al termine del Laboratorio lo studente avrà sviluppato i seguenti comportamenti:

- seguire le presentazioni degli altri studenti e partecipare alla discussione.
At the end of the Laboratory the student will have developed the following behaviors:
- develop independent observation and analysis skills of a museum context in its various components;
- question the historical reasons for the nature and consistency of the collections, offices, regulations, fittings, institutional structures; - develop interaction and team work;
- develop effective ways of presenting content;
- follow the presentations of the other students and participate in the discussion

The educational workshop MUSEIA is recommended for those who want to follow the teachings of "History of collecting and museum" and "Museum communication"
Il Laboratorio prevede una forte interazione tra docenti e studenti, con osservazioni e riflessioni individuali e di gruppo, confronti e discussioni in aula e in museo.
Le visite si svolgeranno in musei del territorio come i Musei nazionali di Pisa, il Museo diocesano di Massa, i musei civici di Empoli.
Il lavoro autonomo degli studenti, individuale o in gruppo di max 3 persone, consiste nella individuazione, visita approfondita, analisi e studio di un museo da loro proposto; nella elaborazione di una presentazione dedicata a tale museo secondo un modello e un tempo dati; all'esposizione in aula di tale presentazione durante il seminario finale, con risposte a eventuali domande e osservazioni dei docenti e degli studenti.
Per le sue caratteristiche didattiche, la frequenza al Laboratorio è obbligatoria (assenza massima di 3 ore su 18).
The Laboratory provides a strong interaction between teachers and students, with individual and group observations and reflections, comparisons and discussions in the classroom and in the museum.
The visits will take place in local museums such as the National Museums of Pisa, the Diocesan Museum of Massa, the civic museums of Empoli.
The autonomous work of the students, individual or in a group of max 3 people, consists in the identification, in-depth visit, analysis and study of a museum proposed by them; in the elaboration of a presentation dedicated to this museum according to a model and a given time; the classroom exposition of this presentation during the final seminar, with answers to any questions and observations of the teachers and students.
Due to its teaching characteristics, attendance at the Laboratory is mandatory (maximum absence of 3 hours on 18).
Il Laboratorio didattico MUSEIA (18 ore accademiche, 3 cfu), è tenuto in co-docenza dalla prof. Antonella Gioli e dalla assegnista di ricerca dott.ssa Sara Bruni.
Si articola in 5 incontri secondo il seguente programma di massima:
- 1° incontro: in aula, introduzione al Laboratorio, illustrazione Scheda museo e concetti di base per l'analisi dei musei (2 h accademiche)
- 2°, 3°, 4° incontri: visite musei con analisi secondo Scheda museo delle loro componenti costitutive (sede, raccolta, ordinamento, allestimento, gestione, comunicazione, caratteristiche istituzionali, ecc) con partecipazione attiva degli studenti (4 h accademiche ciascuno).
- 5° incontro: seminario finale degli studenti in aula con esposizione, individuale o in gruppo (max 3 componente) della loro presentazione sul museo scelto e discussione (4 h accademiche).
Possono partecipare al Laboratorio un massimo di 12 studenti iscritti a Scienze dei Beni Culturali-curriculum storico-artistico (partecipanti di altri curricula verranno accettati solo in caso di disponibilità di posti). Per le modalità di richiesta di iscrizioni vedi "Note".

The MUSEIA Teaching Laboratory (18 academic hours, 3 credits) is co-taught by Prof. Antonella Gioli and the research fellow Sara Bruni.
It is divided into 5 meetings according to the following program:
- 1 meeting: in the classroom, introduction to the Laboratory, illustration Museum card and basic concepts for the analysis of museums (2 h academic)
- 2 seasons, 3 seasons, 4 seasons: visits to museums with analysis of their constituent components according to Museum Card (location, collection, arrangement, management, communication, institutional characteristics, etc.) with active participation of students (4 academic hours each).
- 5 meeting: final seminar of students in the classroom with exhibition, individual or group (max 3 members) of their presentation on the chosen museum and discussion (4 h academic).
A maximum of 12 students enrolled in Sciences of Cultural Heritage-historical-artistic curriculum (participants of other curricula will be accepted only in case of availability of places) can participate in the Laboratory. For how to request registration see "Notes".

Il laboratorio si terrà nel mese di novembre nei giorni e negli orari che verranno comunicati.
E' necessario iscriversi al Laboratorio inviando DAL 1° al 10 SETTEMBRE un email alla dott.ssa Sara Bruni (sara.bruni.bs@gmail.com) con oggetto “Richiesta iscrizione Laboratorio didattico Museia”.
Nella mail andranno indicati: anno di corso, eventuali corsi di ambito museale seguiti ("Storia del collezionismo e del museo", "Museologia e museografia", "Comunicazione museale" e simili) e esami sostenuti (con voto).
In caso di richieste superiori al numero massimo di 12, verrà fatta una selezione sulla base di
- CdL e curriculum (priorità a SBC-curriculum storico-artistico)
- esami o frequenza di insegnamenti di ambito museale (priorità a chi li avesse sostenuti/seguiti)
- anno di corso (priorità agli studenti degli anni più avanzati).
A tutti verrà data risposta, positiva o negativa, entro il 18 settembre.
The workshop will be held in November, in the days and times that will be communicated.
It is necessary to enroll in the Laboratory by sending FROM the 1st to the 10th SEPTEMBER an email to Dr. Sara Bruni (sara.bruni.bs@gmail.com) with the subject "Registration request Workshop Museia".
In the email will indicate: year of course, any courses in the museum followed ("History of collecting and museum", "Museology and museography", "Museum communication" and the like) and exams taken (with grade).
In case of requests exceeding the maximum number of 12, a selection will be made on the basis of
- cdl and curriculum (priority to SBC-historical-artistic curriculum)
- examinations or attendance of teaching in museums (priority to those who had taken/followed them)
- year of course (priority for students in more advanced years).
They will all be answered, yes or no, by 18 September.
