Al termine del corso
sarà in grado di determinare i principali marker biostratigrafici a nannofossili calcarei, foraminiferi ed ostracodi.
Students will acquire knowledge about the tools and methodologies for characterizing sedimentary successions on the base of their fossil content, useful to carry out biostratigraphic studies for geological survey, geodynamic reconstructions and the institution of GSSP’s of Geological Time Scale.
By the end of the course, the students will have acquired knowledge on tools and methodologies for :
And preparing and studying foraminifera, calcareous nannofossils and ostracods.
Students will be able to describe the fossil content of a sedimentary succession and to discuss the biostratigraphic results.
Students will acquire accuracy and precision when collecting and analyzing experimental data.
During the lab sessions, the accuracy and precision of the activities carried out will be evaluated.
