Syllabus
The course covers the chronological framework of history of medicine from the pre-hippocratic times to the knowledge reached in the XIX century. Particular attention will be paid to the evolution of the medical sciences through the centuries: from the "fathers" of medicine Hippocrates and Galen in the Greek and Roman times, to the decadence after the fall of the Roman Empire, passing through the progresses of the Arabic medicine, the Medieval ages, the XVI century, the XVII century and, finally, to arrive to the XVIII and XIX centuries, when the modern scientific medicine arose.
