Knowledge
The integrated course is composed of two main modules: the Physics and the Statistics module. During the Physics module the students will learn the basic conceps necessary to understand the physics mechanisms that rule some medical problems, and will learn some basic concepts of Radioprotection and Radiobiology. At the end of the Physics module the students will be able to use quantitative informations usefull to describe biomedical systems.
At the end of the Statistics module the students will be able to apply statistical methods to the clinical data. Moreover, the students will have knowledge of a selection of areas of research activity within the statistics and epidemiology division.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on:
- his/her ability to solve Physics and Statistical problems related to the biomedical field
-his/her ability to model simple Physics phenomena choosing appropriate variables
- his/her ability to identify which type of study and methodology is best suited to explore the assumptions maden
Methods:
- Final oral exam
- Final written exam
Teaching methods
Delivery: face to face
Learning activities:
- attending lectures
- individual study
Attendance: Mandatory

Syllabus
The integrated course is composed of two main modules: the Physics and the Statistics module. During the Physics module after the description of the laws that rule some medical problems exercise will be done in relation to the problems that the future rehabilitators could find during they jobs and that frequently can be found in bio-medical leterature.
The statistical module is designed to develop the ability to use the information that is stored daily in clinical practice, to identify which type of study and the methodology is best suited to explore the assumptions maden.
