Knowledge
The student is supposed to acquire at the end of Course an advanced knowledge of vector operators on functions of several variables as gradient, divergence and curl and related Gauss and Stokes Theorems besides of multiple integrals. This background is required to solve problems in electrostatic, magnetostatic and slow-varying e.m. fields presented in the Course and argument of exam.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student must be able to solve problems related to the arguments presented in the course. The exam is actually a discussion aimed at ascertaining the capability of the student to address a real physical problem on the bases of his acquired knowledge. Problems are selected in order to fit the program of the Course.

Syllabus
The first part of Course deals with properties of multiple variable functions, vector operators, multiple integrals and Gauss and Stokes Theorems.
The Course deals also with ordinary theory of differential equations and their applications especially to highlight the phenomenon of resonance in different conditions.
In the second part of the Course, Gauss and Stokes theorems are applied to solve Maxwell equations in relevant electrostatic, magnetostatic and slow-varying e.m. fields.
