The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid kwnoledge of the main processes and events in European and world political and social history from the Renaissance to the Eve of the French Revolution. He or she will be able to compare different poliitical and social contexts and look critically at traditional criteria of classification and will have demostrated the ability to appoach socal and political phenomena and present the results in a structured way
During the seminar, with the oral presentation, to be made to the teacher and the other students, the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed research problem, and organise an effective exposition of the results. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.
