Il corso punta a dare allo studente concreti strumenti di analisi del territorio rurale nell’ambito del quale l’agricoltura è una componente fondamentale, una conoscenza dell’attuale quadro normativo delle politiche per il territorio rurale, nonché strumenti operativi per la definizione di strategie di sviluppo rurale e per lo sviluppo di aziende agricole multifunzionali.
To give students: - theoretical basis and tools to analyse the rural area and understanding the role of agriculture in the rural area; - to know the framework of European policies for Rural Development; - operational tools to develop plans and strategies of rural sustainable development.
- In the written exam (3 hours, response to 3 questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply. - With the written report and/or the oral presentation, to be made to the teacher and the other students, the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed research problem, and organise an effective exposition of the results.

Il 60% del corso si basa su lezione frontale, e il restante 40% prevede esercitazioni in aula, eventuali uscite con il docente e lavoro individuale o di gruppo.

Evolution of the concept of rural development in theory and in European policies. The principles of the rural development: sustainability, endogeneity and partecipation. The local resources: the territorial capital; the human capital. Practices: networking, partecipative approach, social learning and communication The rural governance; Innovation and learning processes; The use of statistical sources in the analysis of rural land. Qualitative analysis tools: network analysis, focus groups, open interviews, swot analysis. The valorization strategies based ond the local resources;

La valutazione finale sarà il risultato di una media ponderata tra il voto riportato nella prova scritta (peso 0,6) e il voto riportato nelle esercitazioni (peso 0,4).
