Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to understand electromagnetic phenomena related to time-varying electromagnetic fields. He or she will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the characteristic parameters of the electromagnetic wave propagation as well as of the wave interaction with materials; the student will be aware of the techniques used to analyze wave propagation in guided structures and transmission lines, and will be able to understand the basic principles of the most common transmitting and receiving antennas.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. In the written exam (2.5 hours, ten questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and ability to face with simple numerical examples.

Methods:

  • Final oral exam
  • Final written exam

Further information:
The final test is composed by a written exam (50% weighting)followed by an oral exam (50% weighting).

Teaching methods

Delivery: face to face

Learning activities:

  • attending lectures
  • individual study

Attendance: Advised

Teaching methods:

  • Lectures
