Knowledge
The target of the course is to give to the student a basic kmowledge about the architecture and dimensioning of the radio interface of telecommunication systems together with the guidelines for the design of the main functional blocks.
To this end the fundamental tools for analysis and design of radio frequency circuits are presented. Particularly low noise amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, phase locked loop, RF power amplifiers, modulators and demodulators are considered.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2 hours, 2 essay questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material concerning analysis and design of Y and S parameter amplifiers and oscillators.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.
