Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main issues related to the environmental problems related to energy generation by fossil and non-fossil fuels, with particular attention to the chemical and physical phenomena involved in the formation of pollutants from combustion and gasification process. The student will acquire knowledge of of clean combustion technologies and carbon capture options and will be aware of the trends in European Legislation and International initiatives for a sustainable development.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
With the oral presentation, to be made to the teacher and the other students, the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed research problem, and organise an effective exposition of the results.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.
