Il corso ha lo scopo di fornire le conoscenze relative alla gestione degli animali negli interventi assistiti. In particolare, l’obiettivo è quello di acquisire conoscenze pertinenti alla corretta gestione sanitaria, ai principali indici di salute e di stress e al riconoscimento del dolore nel cane e nel cavallo. Lo studente acquisirà inoltre le conoscenze relative all’approccio ai disturbi comportamentali e alle stereotipie, nonché la legislazione sull’identificazione e sul benessere animale del cavallo e del cane.
The class aims to provide knowledge on the management of animals in animals’ assisted interventions. In particular, the objective would be to achieve a good knowledge about the proper health management, the right way to maintaining animals in good health and about the stress and pain indices in dogs and horses. The student will also acquire knowledge on the approach to behavioral disorders and stereotypes, as well as legislation about the correct identification and animal welfare of the horse and the dog.
La verifica dell’acquisizione delle conoscenze avverrà tramite prova scritta finale.

Lo studente acquisirà le nozioni per una corretta gestione sanitaria dell'animale, al fine di avvalersi correttamente della professionalità del Medico Veterinario e rispettare le scadenze annuali imposti quali profilassi vaccinali, trattamenti antiparassitari e ulteriori indagini necessarie. Acquisirà inoltre la capacità di riconoscere gli stati di benessere o malessere dei soggetti di cui è responsabile e di individuare correttamente il dolore al fine di rivolgersi al Veterinario per gli accertamenti.
Sarà inoltre guidata l'acquisizione delle conoscenze relative alla corretta gestione delle specie d'interresse al fine del mantenimento della loro salute.
The student will acquire the information about the correct health management of the animals, in order to properly cooperate with the veterinarian. Also, the student will learn the annual sanitary deadlines for dogs such as vaccination prophylaxis, antiparasitic treatments and further necessary clinical investigations. It will also acquire the ability to recognize the states of well-being or discomfort of the animals and to identify the pain in order to call the veterinarian.
The student will also achieve the capacity to manage correctly each species (housing, behavior, health, etc.) in order to maintain their health.
Le capacità individuali saranno verificate in aula durante le lezioni frontali e mediante casi pratici simulati.
Individual skills will be tested in the classroom during lectures and throughout simulated practical cases.
Lo studente sarà in grado di lavorare in gruppo e approcciarsi al paziente secondo le normative vigenti sulla sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro e per il benessere animale.
Lo studente, inoltre, dovrà imparare ad interagire in maniera equilibrata con il Medico Veterinario nella fase di comunicazione dell'anamnesi e dei segni clinici e atteggiamenti anomali da lui riscontrati con chiarezza adeguata.
The student will be able to work in group and to approach the patient safety and in line with the animal's welfare.
Furthermore, the student will learn how to interact with the Veterinarian for the history communication and for the communication of clinical signs and alterate behaviors of the animal.
L’acquisizione di tali comportamenti sarà verificata tramite l’osservazione diretta dello studente da parte di ciascun docente dei moduli. Lo studente sarà valutato nella sua relazione con l'animale e con il Medico Veterinario.
Durante ogni attività sarà verificata la distribuzione dei compiti per ciascuno studente all'interno di ciascun gruppo di lavoro, le relazioni tra le parti e la proprietà di linguaggio di ciascuno studente.
The acquisition of these behaviors will be verified through the direct observation of the student by the professor. The student will be evaluated in his/her relationship with the animal and with the Veterinarian.
During each activity the distribution of the tasks for each student within each working group, the relations between the parts and the language property of each student will be verified.
