Conoscenze

Al termine del corso lo studente:

  • -avrà acquisito le conoscenze relative ai sistemi d’impianto delle specie arboree, alle tecniche di gestione dell’arboreto e le principali caratteristiche delle specie arboree coltivate e non;
  • -avrà acquisito i fondamenti della frutticoltura integrata e biologica e dell’arboricoltura, approfondendo le differenze tra i diversi sistemi di produzione;
Knowledge

At the end of the course the student:

  • will have acquired knowledge relating to planting systems of tree species, arboretum management techniques and the main characteristics of cultivated and non-cultivated tree species;
  • will have acquired the fundamentals of integrated and organic fruit growing and arboriculture, deepening the differences between the different production systems;
Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze

La verifica delle conoscenze avverrà attraverso lezioni di accertamento ed esercitazioni pratiche con partecipazione attiva dello studente sugli argomenti trattati a lezione.

Assessment criteria of knowledge

The verification of knowledge will take place through interactive assessment lessons and through proactive practical exercises on the topics covered in class.

Capacità

Al termine del corso:

  • lo studente avrà acquisito non solo competenze e conoscenze adeguate al conseguimento dell'esame, ma soprattutto stimoli, capacità e metodi di apprendimento e valutazione adeguati all'aggiornamento continuo delle proprie competenze nell'ambito della arboricoltura;
  • lo studente avrà acquisito la capacità di individuare le tecniche di progettazione e gestione degli arboreti e dei frutteti integrati e biologici più idonee ad una gestione sostenibile degli impianti arborei;
  • lo studente avrà acquisito la capacità di individuare le tecniche di gestione di siepi, frangivento, impianti policiclici arborei e arbustivi e boschi con lo scopo di favorire la biodiversità dell’agroecosistema.
Skills

At the end of the course:

  • the student will have acquired not only skills and knowledge adequate to take the exam, but above all stimuli, skills and methods of learning and evaluation suitable for the continuous updating of their skills in the field of arboriculture;
  • the student will have acquired the ability to identify the techniques for designing and managing integrated and organic arboretums and orchards most suitable for sustainable management of trees;
  • the student will have acquired the ability to identify the techniques for managing hedges, windbreaks, polycyclic trees and shrubs and woods with the aim of promoting the biodiversity of the agroecosystem.
Modalità di verifica delle capacità

Durante lo svolgimento del corso vengono effettuate lezioni ed esercitazioni di accertamento durante le quali lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver acquisito la capacità di:

  • comprendere le differenze tra i diversi sistemi di produzione frutticoli e degli ecosistemi arborei;
  • l’individuazione delle idonee tecniche di progettazione e gestione degli arboreti;
  • l’individuazione della tecnica idonea per favorire la biodiversità all’interno dell’agroecosistema.
Assessment criteria of skills

During the course, lessons and assessment exercises are held during which the student must demonstrate that he has acquired the ability to:

  • understand the differences between the different fruit production systems and tree ecosystems;
  • the identification of suitable techniques for the design and management of the arboretums;
  • identification of the appropriate technique to promote biodiversity within the agroecosystem.

  • la capacità di individuare le problematiche della gestione del frutteto integrato e biologico e dell’arboreto.
Behaviors

At the end of the course the student will be able to acquire and/or develop:

  • the ability to identify the problems of managing the integrated and organic orchard and the arboretum. Methods of verification of behavior Behavior will be checked;
  • during the exercises the student's behavior in the face of the problems posed by the teacher will be evaluated.

La verifica dei comportamenti sarà effettuata:

Assessment criteria of behaviors

The behavior assessment will be carried out:

  • during the training lessons, carried out mainly at specialized fruit farms with different degrees of cultural intensification, the student's behavior will be assessed in relation to the technical-professional problems submitted for analysis by the teacher and by the operators in the sector.
Prerequisiti (conoscenze iniziali)

Per affrontare l'insegnamento di Sistemi Arborei sono necessarie le conoscenze iniziali di:

  • Arboricoltura Generale per le conoscenze di base relative alla struttura dell’albero, al ciclo ontogenetico, alle principali tecniche di propagazione, alla vocazionalità ambientale e alla gestione del suolo.
  • Agronomia: per le conoscenze relative alla gestione del suolo e alla fertilizzazione.
Prerequisites

To deal with the teaching of Arboreal Systems, the initial knowledge of:

  • General Arboriculture for basic knowledge relating to the structure of the tree, the ontogenetic cycle, the main propagation techniques, environmental suitability and soil management.
  • Agronomy: for knowledge relating to soil management and fertilization.

Indicazioni metodologiche

Le lezioni frontali si svolgono con l'ausilio di slides e prodotti multimediali.

Le esercitazioni vengono effettuate tramite visite ad impianti sperimentali e commerciali e ad aziende frutticole e tramite attività laboratoriali a gruppi.

Viene utilizzata un’aula virtuale sulla piattaforma Microsoft Teams tramite cui è fornito agli iscritti al corso tutto il materiale didattico utilizzato nelle lezioni frontali e, anche, materiale per approfondimenti richiesti dagli studenti stessi.

L'interazione tra docente e studenti avviene mediante ricevimenti e posta elettronica.

Teaching methods

The lectures are held with the help of slides and multimedia products.

The exercises are carried out through visits to experimental and commercial plants and fruit farms and through laboratory activities in groups.

A virtual classroom is used on the Microsoft Teams platform through which course participants are provided with all the teaching material used in the lectures and, also, material for further information requested by the students themselves.

The interaction between teacher and students takes place through receptions and e-mails.

 

 

Programma (contenuti dell'insegnamento)

Diffusione e coltivazione delle specie arboree nel mondo, in Europa e in Italia.

Progettazione dell’impianto arboreo: scelta dell’ubicazione, esigenza climatiche e pedologiche, preparazione del terreno, criteri di scelta del materiale; differenze tra sistema di produzione convenzionale, integrato e biologico; irrigazione e fertilizzazione.

Trattazione monografica delle seguenti specie: Melo, Pero, Pesco, Albicocco, Susino europeo e cino-giapponese, Ciliegio acido e dolce, Actinidia, Olivo. Verranno illustrate anche le tecniche di coltivazione dei piccoli frutti (lampone, mirtillo, rovo, ecc.). Cenni sulle altre colture legnose. Di ciascuna specie sarà trattato: inquadramento botanico e sistematico, biologia fiorale e di fruttificazione, esigenze pedologiche e climatiche, propagazione, portinnesti, distanze di impianto, forme di allevamento, tecniche di impianto, tecniche colturali, panorama varietale e classificazione delle cultivar.

 

Esercitazioni:

  • Riconoscimento delle principali specie arboree da frutto e forestali e della relativa organografia in aula e all'aperto.
  • Potatura di allevamento e produzione delle specie arboree da frutto.
  • Visite ad impianti frutticoli sperimentali, aziende frutticole, impianti di selezione, conservazione, confezionamento e trasformazione della frutta.
  • Seminari con esperti nazionali ed internazionali del settore
Syllabus

Diffusion and cultivation of tree species in the world, in Europe and in Italy.

Tree plant design: choice of location, climatic and pedological requirements, soil preparation, material selection criteria; differences between conventional, integrated and organic production systems; irrigation and fertilization.

Monographic treatment of the following species: Apple, Pear, Peach, Apricot, European and Sino-Japanese Plum, Sour and Sweet Cherry, Actinidia, Olive. The cultivation techniques of small fruits (raspberry, blueberry, bramble, etc.) will also be illustrated. Notes on other woody crops.

Each species will be treated: botanical and systematic framework, floral and fruiting biology, soil and climatic needs, propagation, rootstocks, planting distances, training methods, planting techniques, cultivation techniques, varietal panorama and classification of cultivars.

Training:

  • Recognition of the main fruit and forest tree species and related organography in the classroom and outdoors.
  • Pruning of breeding and production of fruit tree species.
  • Visits to experimental fruit plants, fruit farms, selection plants, conservation, packaging and transformation of fruit.
  • Seminars with national and international experts in the sector

Modalità d'esame

L’esame è composto da una prova orale finale con voto in trentesimi. A scelta dello studente, l'esame orale verterà sulla discussione di un progetto di impianto frutticolo presentato in sede d’esame.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of a final oral exam with a mark out of thirty.

At the student's choice, the oral exam will focus on the discussion of a fruit orchard project presented during the exam.
