Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to: understand how information is represented and elaborated in a computing system; design algorithms for solving simple problems; implement algorithms using a programing language (Javascript for example); use tools for writing and debugging computer programs.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student must demonstrate the ability to put into practice the activities illustrated or carried out under the guidance of the teacher during the course. In particular, in the written exam, the student will be assessed on his/her ability to solve problems using the programming language used during lectures.

Syllabus
Simplified architecture and main blocks of computing systems. Information representation. Developing and executing computer programs on personal computers. Programming ina high level language, using Javascript as an example. Simple instructions; conditional statements; iterative and jump statements; functions; scalarts and arrays.Recursive programming. Data structures. Basic graphic concepts.
