Knowledge
The course is aimed at properly developing the skills of future Biomedical Engineers in the Computer Science field, addressing the specific area of Bioinformatics. In the course, students will acquire the expertise required to participate in design, implementation and integration of heterogeneous software systems in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, developing also programming skills in the Python scripting language.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to design and develop a self-contained software system in the areas of Bioinformatics. The practical test is aimed at assessing the basic programming skills of the student. The oral exams are devoted to assess the comprehension level of the course topics.

Methods:

  • Final oral exam
  • Final laboratory practical demonstration
