Lo studente, che deve far parte della squadra corse, svolge un attività progettuale relativa ad un sistema del veicolo (quale ad es. telaio, sospensioni, dinamica, aerodinamica, motori a combustione interna, elettronica, powertrain, trazione, controlli ecc.) e, pertanto acquisisce approfondite conoscenze applicative in una delle aree tematiche dell'ingegneria dei veicoli. Lo studente deve inoltre avere buona conoscenza del regolamento della FSAE e degli aspetti inerenti la sicurezza.
The student, who must be part of the racing team, has to carry out a design activity in relation to a vehicle system (such as for example, chassis, suspensions, dynamics, aerodynamics, internal combustion engines, electronics, powertrain, traction, controls etc.) and, therefore, acquires in-depth knowledge in one of the thematic areas typical of automotive engineering. The student must also have good knowledge of FSAE regulations and of general aspects related to safety.
L'esame mira ad accertare la conoscenza e la capacità di applicare la conoscenza in un area tematica tipica del settore dei veicoli.
La verifica delle conoscenze è oggetto anche della discussione orale in sede di esame.
The exam aims to ascertain the knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge in a typical thematic area of vehicle engineering. Verification of knowledge is also the subject of the oral discussion during the final examination.
Nel corso delle attività lo studente acquisisce la capacità di sviluppare il progetto di un sottosistema del veicolo.
Lo studente acquisisce la capacità di scrivere un report tecnico sulle attività svolte.
Lo studente acquisisce la capacità di utilizzare strumenti informatici di progettazione assistita o per la redazione di relazioni tecniche.
During the activities the student acquires the capability to develop the design of a vehicle subsystem.
The student acquires the ability to write a technical report on the activities carried out.
The student acquires the ability to use computer-assisted softwares for CAE sector or for the drafting of technical reports.
Durante la discussione orale lo studente è chiamato a difendere le soluzioni adottate e a fornire elementi tecnici che ne hanno determinato la scelta.
During the oral discussion, the student is asked to defend the solutions adopted and to provide technical elements that determined their choice.
Lo studente acquisisce inoltre capacità di lavoro in gruppo e di relazionare la propria specifica attività con quella di altri gruppi all'interno della squadra corse.
Durante la partecipazione a gare ed eventi lo studente potrà confrontarsi con altri studenti italiani e provenienti da tutto il mondo e acuisisce esperienza nel settore motorsport in generale.
The student also acquires the ability to work in groups and to relate their specific activity with that of other groups within the racing team.
During the participation in competitions and events the student will be able to compare himself with other Italian students and students from all over the world and gain experience in the motorsport sector, in general.
Durante lo sviluppo del progetto saranno discusse e valutate le scelte progettuali effettuate, le ipotesi assunte e il grado di approfondimento delle analisi svolte.
During the development of the project, the design choices made, the assumptions made and the degree of depth of the analyzes carried out will be discussed and evaluated.

Le attività assegnate allo studente possono variare dagli aspetti prettamente tecnici, a quelli gestionali-organizzativi, a quelli economici, a quelli dei rapporti con i fornitori e sponsor, a quelli relativi alla cmunicazione.
Viene svolta una sorta di colloquio per capire in quale settore può risultare idonea una candidatura verso il team.

The activities assigned to the student can vary from purely technical aspects, to managerial-organizational ones, to economic ones, to those relating to relations with suppliers and sponsors, to those relating to communication.
A sort of interview is held to understand in which sector an application to the team may be suitable.
Non vi è un programma, non vi sono lezioni frontali; le attività vengono svolte all'interno del team squadra corse sotto la supervisione di un responsabile tecnico della squadra e di almeno un docente di riferimento.
There is no program, there are no frontal lessons; the activities are carried out within the racing team under the supervision of a team technical manager and at least one reference teacher.

The exam consists of an oral test.
The student must prepare a summary report in which he describes the activity carried out, which he must send to the teacher in charge of the course. The student must then make an oral presentation of the same in front of a specially appointed commission, in which at least one expert member of the topic is present, and is called to answer questions. A qualitative assessment provided by team managers also contributes to the final evaluation to a small extent.
L'esame consiste in una prova orale.
Lo studente deve predisporre una relazione sintetica in cui descrive l'attività svolta che deve inviare al docente titolare dell'insegnamento. Lo studente dovrà poi fare una presentazione della stessa di fronte a una commissione appositamente nominata, nella quale è presente almeno un membro esperto della tematica trattata, ed è chiamato a rispondere a delle domande. Alla valutazione finale contribuisce anche, in lieve misura, una valutazione qualitativa fornita dai responsabili del team.
