The lecture is a follow-up to General Relativity in which formal aspects of gravitational theories are developed and more advanced topics are introduced. The aim is to give to the student all the necessary tools to understand current research topics in the theory of gravitation.
The program includes: differential and Riemannian geometry as motivated by physics, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations of General Relativity, construction of field theories in curved space, theoretical aspects of black hole physics (solutions, mechanics and formation), Hawking radiation and thermodynamics of black holes."
