Learning outcomes

The course aims to introduce the problem of dark matter, its direct search, and the search at particle accelerators. The reasons that led to the hypothesis of the existence of a non-baryonic matter and the main extension models of the standard model will be discussed. The experimental techniques of low-mass direct detection will be introduced. The searches for candidate dark matter particles at particle accelerators will be presented. Current experiments and future experimental directions will be reviewed.
