The course aims at giving the student the theoretical and practical instruments necessary to a Medicinal Chemist in the field of qualitative inorganic analysis, performed by using both systematic and instrumental methods. This objective is achieved through identification, by means of analytical techniques, of inorganic ions, present both as principal and as contaminative products in pharmaceutical preparations reported in the Official Pharmacopoeias. In this objective are included purity assays and limit tests, as prescribed in the two pharmacopoeias. Final objective of the course is a qualified preparation of the students on Qualitative Analysis of inorganic substances of pharmaceutical interest and on the practical work in a Chemical-Pharmaceutical laboratory. The course of analytical chemistry aims at giving the student the theoretical and practical instruments necessary to a Medicinal Chemist in the field of Analytical Chemistry. This objective is achieved with the broadening of theoretical fundamentals relative to pH and to solution multiple equilibrium, even through applications in the pharmaceutical field.
