The course aims to provide to the student essential knowledge on the practical development of innovative pharmaceutical dosage forms such as modified release ones (tablets, inserts, nanoparticles, liposomes, etc.). Different techniques of production and chemical-physical / biopharmaceutical characterization of pharmaceutical dosage forms will be studied by researching aspects such as the stabilization of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the techniques for the evaluation of the chemical/ physical stability of the pharmaceutical systems. The in-depth analysis of pharmaceutical dosage forms will be transferred to medical devices and the fundamental regulatory aspects for marketing of medical devices will be introduced.
