Learning outcomes

The course provides the tools to interpret the current diversity of life, humans included, under an evolutionary perspective. Through participated lessons and seminar activities, the students will know the history of the evolutionary thinking, from the former conceptions to the most recent developments, and will acquire the ability to evaluate the complexity of life-environment interactions in the light of such theories.
At the end of the course the conceptual and terminological foundations to understand the current scientific debate on evolution as well as the ability to either read or re-read in an evolutionary perspective the topics covered in the other courses will be acquired.
