The course aims to provide students with an introduction to the study of ethology, illustrating the basic principles of animal behaviour, such as motivation, responses to stimuli, communication, learning and instinct, sociality. Students will also gain knowledge on the more specific ethological fields like biological rhythms, insect societies, animal orientation and navigation and human behaviour.
