Learning outcomes
The course is organized in three phases:
i) Pollution: definition and classification of the main pollutants. Atmosphere, Water and Soil: origin and diffusion of pollutants.
ii) Monitoring procedures of pollutants: environmental variables and environmental quality. Chemical and biological analysis. Ecological indicators and atmospheric and aquatic monitoring. iii) Criteria for Environmental Impact Assessment: administrative procedures and study cases
This course give an appropriate and sound basis of applied ecology with particular emphasis to the study of the origin, diffusion and monitoring procedures of pollution in atmosphere, water and soil.
