Learning outcomes

Contents: logical models of taxonomic diversity and relevant sources of digital data; major digital platforms of biodiversity data storage and management; technical lexicon of digital biodiversity.
Expected results: students will acquire basic knowledge to 1) develop logical models of taxonomic diversity; 2) evaluate available sources of digital data; 3) use profitably the major digital platforms of biodiversity data storage and management; 4) effectively engage with database specialists and digital biodiversity experts.
Aim of the course in the context of the degree course: expand the properly biological skills on biodiversity provided by other courses so as to connect with the biodiversity informatics disciplines.
