Credits 15
Learning outcomes
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the principles governing (i) quantum mechanics and its application to the description of atomic and molecular electronic structure, (ii) absorption and emission of electromagnetic radiation by atoms and molecules.
The student will also be able to connect the quantum knowledge of the microscopic world with the thermodynamic laws of the macroscopic world and will have the ability to record and analyse IR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence and NMR spectra.
