Students will be introduced to the coordination chemistry by an analysis of the different coordination numbers and the associated geometries. Point groups and molecular symmetry will be treated. Bonding, spectra, magnetism and some periodic trends inside the three transition series will be analysed with the use of the VB, CFT and MO theories.
