Aim of the course is to provide a deep knowledge of the fundamental biotechnological tools such as industrial fermentation and bioconversion, highlighting the importance of applying micro-organisms for the industrial production of metabolites and biomass. The program will focus on the procedures for bioprocess development, the kinetic models and the metabolic basis for product formation. Industrial fermentation processes will be described together with the employments of the products for environmental, biomedical and food applications.
