Analytical Chemistry and Practical Lab
Code 113CC
Credits 9
Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide the students with theoretical backgrounds and methodologies enabling them to correctly set and appropriately resolve basic problems of analytical chemistry. The course is devoted mainly to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of inorganic systems, in particular electrolytes. The following topics are treated: proton transfer, complex formation, precipitation, and electron transfer reactions.
Practical laboratory: Simple analytical problems are solved by using suitable experimental procedures. The issues discussed in the laboratory course include: safety, steps of the chemical analysis, qualitative analysis of cations and anions, volumetric analysis, ion exchange resins, potentiometric analysis.
