The objective of this course is to provide students with the
knowledge on the structure of the main materials of interest in material and chemical engineering. In particular, students are instructed on the mechanical, chemical and physical characteristics and behavior of the materials (metals, polymers, ceramics and composites), which are usually used in chemical processes and plants as well as in materials engineering.
Basic concepts of resistance to corrosion and chemical, physical and mechanical degradation of materials will be also introduced.
