Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide knowledge of the fundamental features of medieval Latin literature (6th-15th centuries) and the main characteristics of medieval Latin language in its progressive mutations from the decadence of classical culture to the late medieval and humanistic rebirth. Students will be able to demonstrate literary-historical and linguistic orientation skills in the reading, analysis and interpretation of medieval Latin texts and to reconstruct the classical and medieval tradition in Italian literary culture from the 13th to the 15th century.
