Learning outcomes

Electromagnetic principles of Ground Penetrating Radar. Electric and magnetic proprieties of rocks, soils and fluids. Causes of GPR reflections in sediments. Reconstruction of internal structure of clastic sediments. Radar facies. Processing GPR data. Generation and interpretation of 2D radargrams, time slices and 3D data volume. GPR applications to the principal geomorphological settings (aeolian, coastal, fluvial, permafrost and glacial environments). Field work on dune, beach, fluvial and archaeological environments.
