Learning outcomes

The course analyses financial intermediaries through the analysis of theories, nature, features and functions, efficiency and competition, technology, financial innovation and securitisation, management principles of banks, mutual funds, insurance companies and, at the same time, financial markets through the analysis of money markets, bond markets, stock markets and derivatives markets and financial instruments.
The course takes into account problems and consequences of the subprime financial crisis in the United States of America, Europe and the world.
The course builds up strong theoretical and managerial knowledge and skills preparing for banks, mutual funds and insurance companies of a modern financial system of market economies.
