The course focuses on the biodiversity of microorganisms associated with plants and occurring in the soil and rhizosphere. Lectures will give students insight into and understanding of the main microbial group involved in plant nutrition and in the modulation of plant physiological processes. The methods for the analyses of microbial communities will be also explored, with particular attention to metagenomics approaches.
