The course focuses on the vast array of biotechnological applications in microbiology. Lectures will give students insight into and understanding of the main functional group of microorganisms involved in biotechnological processes and environmental protection. Biodegradation, biotransformation and fermentative processes will be also explored, as well as microbial interactions with plants relevant for primary production.
