The course aims at ensuring that the students possess solid skills in order to understand and critically analyse historiographical and documental sources related to the political-institutional transformations of the international organizations since the first half of the XIXth century, especially after World War I. A particular attention will be dedicated to the crucial historical transitions of the institutional international framework, with special regards to the promotion of human, political and social rights and to the economic global governance. At the same time storiaime it will be under analysis the history of the main NGOs, looking at their gradual institutionalization.
