To provide an overview upon technologies and tool needed to setup complete Virtual Reality systems

The course is divided in 3 main modules:

The Perception module shows how men experience the surrounding reality, so as to identify its aspects that can be simulated along with the needed technologies.
The Modeling and Rendering module describes the main techniques used to model Virtual Environments and to implement the modules constituting a VR system, illustrating in details the visual, the acoustical and the haptic subsystems.
The Interaction and Applications module illustrates the technologies used for the interaction between users and the Virtual Environment. Moreover, a significant sample of real-life VR applications are presented, with an in-depth examination of Augmented Reality techonologies and web VR.

Practical lectures are scheduled in order to realize a simple interactive VR application.
