The aim of the course is to apply advanced mathematical tools to the study of some microeconomic problems.
In the first part of the course, a particular attention will be devoted to some difficult problems in consumption theory (inter alia, separability of utility and integrability of demand) and production theory.
The second part of the course will be devoted to the theory of general economic equilibrium: in particular, to the various existence proofs (Arrow-Debreu theorems, generalized proofs for non-regular preferences, constructive proofs and a glance to Smale’s methods), optimality theorems and coalition theory, equilibrium with contingent markets.
