The course is part of the preparation for the nursing student to the application and management of diagnostic and therapeutic patient.
In particular, the goal is to provide students with the main concepts related to the activities carried out within a Laboratory of Pathology, focusing on the need for adequate and responsible preparation of tissue material to be sent to the same laboratory. The seminar will address various topics related to the different phases of daily activities that are carried out in a Laboratory of Pathology, emphasizing in particular the problems of pre-service and pre-analytical phases of the preparation of a histological specimen.
Students will learn some aspects of the introduction of innovative technologies that require specific treatments to be carried out, for the various types of materials, before sending to the laboratory. The preparation of materials represents a pivotal moment and its proper execution is a prerequisite for an adequate diagnostic classification and, consequently, for a correct therapeutic approach.
