The course illustrates the basic concepts of hydrocarbon exploration, the structural and stratigraphic settings of the most common hydrocarbon traps with reference to known reservoirs. It also introduces methods and technologies in use for the hydrocarbon search and focuses on the integration of geological and geophysical data and of their visualization and interpretation.
