Learning outcomes

Educational goals:
The course takes place in the field of study associated with the development of a visual digital culture. The goal is to provide the tools for critical investigation of different ways to use digital technologies in art and media. We shall examine various forms and types of digital art, contextualised in relation to three main factors:
1. Evolution of information technology
2. Historical and artistic background
3. Aesthetic concerns
Description:
Relationship between art and new technologies. Origins of computer art. Interactive art (installations, net art, web art, virtual environments, performances). Digital photography. Digital cinema. Video games. Production and research centers on art and new media. Aesthetics of new media. Numerous case studies will be examined to deepen specific aspects of the issues addressed.
