Educational Goals
Introduce the main sociological theories that help to understand the relation culture-society-social action.
Description
Purpose of the course will be to analyze, in a dynamic dimension, the contemporary socio-cultural scenarios and the impact on them of the most modern communication media. The course describes the processes underlying human communication, the relations between modes of social construction of knowledge and communication, the dynamics of negotiation of meanings, the process of media communication, the analysis on the public of media; the effects of media on collective knowledge ; the relationship between mediated society and social actors. Specific attention will be devoted to the effects that technological change has produced in the media-viewing experiences of individuals.
