The emphasis of the course is on the understanding and appreciation of basic plant functions. Although we will focus primarily on the major physiological processes of plant growth ad development, a few elements concerning the link between regulation of physiological processes and adaptation to the environment will be also provided. Accurately selected laboratory experiments will reinforce the lecture topics.
