Learning outcomes
The course aims to discuss – with special attention on our country – the origin and the transformation of the “enterprise as historical subject” and as central institution of the modern economic development, from the industrial revolution to the present days.
Aims:
- To provide the student with the basic knowledge to enable him/her to understand the passage from the pre-industrial world to the industrialized society;
- To in-depth discuss the birth of the various productive sectors, of the main enterprises and of the most significant figures of entrepreneurs and business men, from the Italian Unification onward;
- To examine the specificity of the Italian reality, the “double side” character of our industry, the “tormented development of the organizational skills between State and families”, the role of the industrial districts and the vitality of small and middle sized concerns.
