The whole chemical process will be studied in all its fundamental steps, analysing with many examples (in particular in the field of organic commodities) the different process solutions and the innovative perspectives. The main process aspects (yield, safety, energy recovery, environmental and economic impact) will be discussed for the optimisation of the process parameters. Novel processes, in the field of commodities and also of fine chemicals, will be discussed and integrated with problem solving activities and practical lab activities with focus on methodologies of scale-up, risk assessment, intellectual property and patents, safety and environment friendly processes, economic analysis.
