Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to provide to the students the knowledge necessary for the understanding of processes associated with coastal protection and the principles of assistance costs that need protection. The aim includes also the knowledge on the interactions between man-made works and coastal dynamics in order to scientifically analyze the impacts on the environment.
Syllabus: Theory of coastal protection. Coastal current wave sediment dynamics. Statistical analysis of extreme events in coastal dynamic interaction between human interventions and techniques for coastal defense. Numerical simulation models of the type "single line"
