Learning outcomes

The course intends to promote the study and analysis of poetic, narrative, and dramatic texts from the beginnings of Anglo-American literature to the contemporary age. Besides contextualizing works within their historical and cultural background, the course delves into methodological and theoretical questions relevant to the study of literary texts. The overarching aims of the course are to widen the students’ knowledge of Anglo-American literary history and to allow them to achieve a sound competence in the analysis of the literary text in all its different components.
