Learning outcomes

The course focuses on the study and analysis of English poetic, narrative, and dramatic texts from the Renaissance to the present, as well as of works belonging to literatures written in English. Besides contextualizing works within their historical and cultural background, the course addresses methodological and theoretical questions within the field of literary studies. The aims of the course are to broaden the students’ knowledge of English and Anglophone Literatures and to allow them to achieve a solid competence in the analysis of the literary text in all its different components.
