The course aims to deal with the analysis of the Ancient Rus' literary tradition (Kiev and Moscow era, XI-XVII centuries), as well as popular tradition and Russian folklore. The course offers a deepening of knowledge related to traditional Russian culture and its historical and typological traits, the literary forms and genres, as well as the philosophical and religious conceptions. Students will be able to achieve a competence for what concerns the analysis of medieval texts and contexts in their different cultural articulations.
