Learning outcomes
The course of Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology is aimed to furnish at the student the necessary knowledge regarding:
- the adverse reactions due to the different classes of drugs, vaccines or food supplements
- the post-marketing drug surveillance system and the national pharmacovigilance network
- the pharmacoepidemiology and related statistics parameters
Another important objective of the course is to make the students independent in the compilation of the official form employed to signal a potential adverse drug reaction and to spread the pharmacovigilance culture in order to improve the quality and the number of reportings by the pharmacists of the future. Finally, through the knowledge obtained with the course of Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology, main features of the pharmacists professional figure, the objective of make the student able to a careful and qualified counseling activity for the patient will be pursued, in order to prevent possible interactions and adverse drug reactions related to drugs, vaccines and/or food supplements
