Learning outcomes
The course of Quantitative Analysis of Drugs II aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the main analytical methods used in the quantitative determination of compounds of pharmaceutical interest. In particular, instrumental methods such as electrochemical, spectroscopic, chromatographic and electrophoresis will be investigated. The principles for the characterization and selection of analytical methods will also be taken into consideration with particular focus to the validation of the method and the general requirements for the quality control. At the end of the course the students will acquire knowledge and expertise related to the quantitative determination of substances with biological activity (drugs and their metabolites in particular), both pure or in a mixture or formulation. They will become familiar with the most common analytical methods for pharmaceuticals and those reported by the European Pharmacopoeia, acquiring the expertise required for the performance in the quality control.
